BECK'S THURS FEB 12- TUES FEB 17

THURS 2/12: well the last few days have been different to say the least. on thurs we purcahsed tickets on a 2-tier tour bus going around paris. you can get on and off at will and get on other buses that have slightly different routes and points of interest. the bus was hella bumpy so my videos are going to probably cause seizures in young children much like the animae cartoons in japan do to their young. the climate was ficking cold (pardon my french) since we are in france,i should make the most of speaking french, yes? it is so nice to type on an english keyboard again...their back space key is one space over but other than that is exactly the same. i am typing this on a wireless keyboard atop a pillow from my bed in the Holiday Inn at Heathrow Airport.

back to thursday, we suffered thru the cold and wind and got some really good video and photos of france. it is so beautiful here and the people are so very very nice and helpful. i only met one nasty old bitchy french woman. she was the one who cooks crepes on the corner near our hotel. if you asked for a crepe, she just says NO, you can have panini....and if you ask for panini, she says NO, you can have crepe. so you ask for a crepe AND a panini and then she just sucks on her glass of red winde and stares at you. i hate her. but other than her, absolutely everyone else has been wonderful. they do not make you feel like a moron like the italians did. i would like to travel to southern italy to compare the tyep of people. i cannot believe all are like this since my grandfather was from sicily and he was an angel. i would like to better prepare myslef for future trips and study the language for a couple months prior. jules and i tried the languages from each of the 4 countries to the best of our ability. it tokk some time to get our confidence up but once we thought we knew what we were doing, there was not stopping us. we nade some mistakes but were always corrected in the nicest of ways. anyway,my memories of thurs were of the tour bus, the cold and then we found another hotel to stay at....the best western around the corner. the room at the Grand hotel leveque was fricking tiny, one of us had to sit on the bed if the other one wanted to get us to use the bathroom or get something from a suitcase. also, we were not allowed to eat or drink anything in the room, so obviously we sneak shit in everyday. it is tricky to sneak pizza under your shirt sideways and still keep the cheese and toppings on the crust, but necessity is the mother of invention (by the way i cannot see what i am typing cuz it is showing up on the "telly" in a weird ass font so cannot tell if i am misspelling anything, sorry. one excuse after another, i know. so we go check out of the hotel leveque and it is snowing in paris. it stops by the time we have to haul our crap to the next hotel. i mail 2 more boxes of crap home and jule mails 1 more. the new hotel is more money but julie can have her coffee in the room and we can eat allt the french pastries we want in the room. we also can both be upright at the same time!

friday the 13th: move into new hotel and go on 2nd day of tour bus. julie is starting to feel crappy. her throat is starting to ache. i think we just called it an early night. watched the italian and french version of Deal or no deal. yes, their host is as irritating as howie mandel with all the stupid banal chatter. also the wheel of fortune has a tramp with bleach blonde hair, huge boobs, lip implants who giggles and pets a dog during the show.

saturday feb 14: st valentines day!!!!

julie is freaking out with the flu. aches and pains, coughing, headache, blah blah blah. she is so sick she does not get out of bed all day. i take a cab to the Champs Elyeese for shopping , food, and a movie. i saw He's just not that into you...it was in english with french subtitles....very nice...the floot is all carpet and the chairs are plush. they are not stadium seating like we have but are almost the same level throughout. AND...this is the best part....they do NOT talk during the movie AND they do not need to send in a cleaning crews between showes because people throw out their trash! it is madness! i wanted to personally thank each and every person in there for not talking! wow....americans really are pigs. i putted around the shopping district for a couple hours and then headed back to the hotel. julie had been asleep all day running a fever. i picked up some candy and contraband for her for valentines day....ahahhaha

Sunday, feb 15:

still nojulie! she is worse than before but she starts to feel better later that day and decides to go with me to the eiffel tower at night for some photos. it is weird over there with all the military guys there with their assault rifles walking around the tower. they finally had the 3rd story opened today and we went to the top. it was freezig cold and julie stayed up top in probably 27 degree weather while i went below away from the wind. well julie was sneezing, coughing, and super miserable with fever all night and again the next day.

Monday, feb 16

Still no julie....has got the flu big time. she is a funny jaundice color...not a good look for her and no amount of makeup is gonna change that...she was gross looking. all puffy, red....i took really good care of her these past 4 days....i even put a big pillow between our beds (they are like 4 inches apart) to act as a "salad bar sneeze guard"...she did not get much sleep again that night. during the day, i went back to the shopping district and watched another movie "slum dog millionaire"...again in english with french subtitles...well, the parts where they were speaking in punjab were subtitled in french so i still missed a good part of the movie, but it really is a good movie. this movie theater you have to purchase tickets thru a machine and my credit card would not work and i was trying to let the itcket woman know that, but she did not speak english and i do not speak french so seh got frustrated with me and asked this old couple behind me in line to take me outside and show me what to do....for crying out loud! the old man goes "i bet u flunked french in school"...ahahhahahaha we all had a good laugh about that. the thing with the french, they can make fun of you and it is funny, cuz you really ARE that pathetic....it is not in a mean way at all. well, this theater is really cool....there is a middle section of like 10-12 seats across and the secions to the left and right are just rows of 2....so those of us who do not want to sit with strangers this is the way to go!!!! again the floots have nice carpet and the seats are plush but do not rock and they do not have arm rests with cup holders. the snack bars in these theaters are bottled and canned drinks, mars bars, m&m, skittles, and gummi candy. they do not eat popcorn. now the toilets are a whole other thing....there are 2 little closets....one for boys, one for girls...inside there is a hook for a jacket, a toilet, and a roll of toilet paper...outside the rooms is one sink for the both sexes to share and one hand dryer...the people in "que" are standing right outside the door. you could hear a mouse fart the doors are so thin....OMG there are not secrets in those johns. it was disgusting.

so later, i pick up some mcdonalds from the McCafe and get jules and i 2 cheeseburgers, fries, and McCrumchy...which is probalby corn flakes covered in chocolate looking like a dog turd. it was good, but after sitting atop of the fries got a tad soft and most of it looked like diarhea...nonetheless, i ate it. jules was still too sick to participate so i headed off without her looking for an internet cafe and then the eiffel tower at night on the hour lights up with twinkling lights and i wanted a video of it. oh, i almost forgot...we have not heard a single car alarm over here in eastern or western europe which is probably deliberte. you cannot believe thes french people behind the wheel, it is crazy. they part their cars one behind another in a row,,,there are not diagonaly spaces to partk anywhere. so you know the austin powers movie where mike myers is on a golf cart and is stuck between 2 walls...he goes forward like 1 inch, hits the wall, then puts it in reverse and goes backwards 1 inch, hits the wall behind him,,,cranks the steering wheel hard to the left or right, goes forward, hits the wall, cranks it the other way, backs up hits the wall again...and so on....it is hysterical...that is EXACTLY how they do it here. they just keep hitting the car in front and behind over and over and over until they can push their way out...it is so funny....they do not give it a 2nd thought....i tried to get it on video to show you but could not. trust me, it is HILARIOUS

there are also no trash bins here...they have green plastic bags hanging around along the street for your trash and people actually USE it....all the hotels, restaurants, pubs, tourist attractions are all non smoklng now...if u want to smoke u go outside. it is great. another thing that is great are giant crepes with chocolate and sliced bananas....yummy....they also have giaormous mernque cookies...where ours are liek the size of an egg,, the ones here are the size of 1/2 a soccer ball or grapefruit. the Rue Cler markets where they were selling these was closed the past 2 days so i was not able to try one.

we also made a trip to the Moulin Rouge, the crazy horse strip club, on sunday night when we went to the top of the eiffel tower.

tues: feb 17- our flight from paris was delayed an hour while they repaired the computer (we were on the plane at the time) julie was so sick, the flight attendants covered her up with their jacket. she has been so sick for going on 5 days now...i would not expect her back this week sue. we just finished off $75 of room service and are suing the "telly" to update our blog...my back is killing me....julie is alseep but perhaps she will get up and update soon. i feel so bad for her...but better her than me...xo
