well,the flight was nice and short, we had a 4 hour stay in rome and then the final leg of the trip was only another hour. we had drama at the airport....jules will have to tell you what happened.

we took a water taxi (u get them right at then airport) holy crap...when u are talking about another countrys currency (euro here now) and have been thinking in kunas from croatia...when someone says it is only 90 euro u think hot damn...uh, NOT....90 euro each way is $140....we must be as stupid as we look..oh well, enjoyed the 25 min ride to the hotel....Grand Carlton or something like that. no red carpet but the exterior of the hotel was lit up really pretty and the lobby was smashing...the room- well....it is like living in a 14th century doll house. it is really small, narrow and the rain leaks into the room. there are towel warmers in the shower and a bidet...trying to talk julie into trying that puppy out in her swimsuit for a video. looks kinda scary. i was awoken in the middle of the night by....i kid you not...an air raid siren...i thought we were being bombed...OMG that was loud and the the boats and gondolas clanging against each other in the water...and some gosh darn loud fricking ass bells or something that were not synchronized OMG i was up all night. i must have fallen asleep around 0700 hrs before the room service arrived. i took my shower...low water pressure but i was able to complete the act....julie gets in the shower and after like 20 mins comes out in her towel and says she gives up....cannot figure out how to get the water to come out. so i go in there and start fiddling around and no water, not even in the sink although the toilet will still flush. WTF... so julie calls the front desk and is advised that during high tide, there is no water!!!!!! she must wait until the tide gets lower!!!!! how crazy is that-suffice to say, miss jules will be taking her shower tonight. we stink really bad and are trying to find a laundromat to wash our clothes. yes, i realize the hotel will do our laundry but get this- $15 to wash a mens tie! $12 to wash ONE pair of pants....so we heard there is a laundromat somewhere near this internet cafe...not really a cafe...just an internet joint.

today we went to st marks square and some other touristy place. julie bought an ITALIA zippered jacket and the locals thought that was hilarious and they got a kick out of my fanny pack. whatever! we ate some really good tortellini with meat sauce and some spaghetti with tomato sauce, some hella good pastries and i felt like barfing. julie is coming down with something...she better not make me sick!
