Well yesterday was boring & mostly flying. We left Dubrovnik around 2 or 3 pm and flew into Rome where we had a 3 hour layover. Did I mention Becky is a COMPLETE goddess? It was not a good day for Julie to be in airports apparently....I swear they have it out for me. We got into Venice around 10 or 11 pm and took a water taxi to the front of our hotel. It looks different than it did online...itàs very quirky and apparently the water shuts off mid-morning because of the tide, but its ok. Itàs REALLY small but that makes it easier for me to eat Beckys food and go unnoticed. Have I mentioned that when I get back I plan to worship the water Becky walks on? Im pretty sure she pisses liquid gold too.
This keyboard is Italian so Im not sure if things are coming across right. Like magic the rain cleared for us all day and we walked to St. Marks square and the Rialto market. We went to the top of the Campaniti (sp?) and took pictures overlooking the city....gorgeous! I wanted this to be my dream photo trip, and boy am I getting...everywhere we go Iàm getting the perfect weather I could dream of, and so far no equipment issues. The weatherproof cover built into my camera bag has been a lifesaver. I cannot wait to go home and sit in my pajamas with some tea and scour over my pictures for hours. Maybe tea just sounds good because of the cold I think Iàm getting....probably just this rainy Italy weather doing a number on my sinuses....just like Sacramento!
Tomorrow were going to do laundry because we each only have like one clean outfit left. Then depending on the weather maybe a gondola ride. I had tortellini for lunch....REAL tortellini....Iàm still in awe. The food here is unbelieable and Italian people are all gorgeous....were speaking Italian like crazy (probably poorly) as much as we can and were making more friends here....people only look at us like were a little crazy, which is a nice change.
Did I mention Becky is the most amazing woman on the planet? I hope she lets me do her laundry while she naps....not that she needs the beauty rest.
